Here we are continuing to consider the prophecies in Daniel 7 leading up to the prophecy that points to A.D. 1870. But before doing this we need to examine Daniel’s other date for the divine Stone to fall.
The “stone cut out of the mountain without hands” (the impersonal Christ) falls on the feet of iron and clay of the giant image representing Daniel’s four world empires of temporal power.
All of Daniel’s time-span prophecies begin with Solomon’s command in 1014 B.C. to build the original temple. The building and honoring of a sanctuary dedicated to the Almighty comes up five times in these prophecies. The lesson here is that any charge to build or keep a temple dedicated to God must be taken seriously and sacredly or there will be serious consequences.
There are many points that are analyzed in Chapter VIII. Twice in Daniel’s Chapter 7 and again in his Chapter 8, when a prophecy is unfolded in the middle of an event, the timing of the prophecy is directly related to the event.
Chapter 7 verses 13 and 14 describe what happens after the fall: “one like the Son of man” coming in a cloud to God, followed by a Kingdom with “an everlasting dominion.”
