Bible Prophecies: 16

And we continue with further discussion on Daniel 7 from Chapter X (Part 2).

“ONE LIKE THE SON OF MAN

CAME WITH THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN”

(Daniel 7:13-14 +)

Two Advents of the BRANCH of David

With the misinterpretation of “one like the Son of man [coming] with the clouds of heaven” (Daniel 7:13) as this one’s descending to earth instead of ascending to the Ancient of days, biblical scholars are left with the question, “How shall we identify the Second Advent when it does happen?” or “If we have missed it, how shall we search and find it?”

Readers must remember that the Old Testament prophets did not use the word Christ. Instead, the prophets used the words righteousness or purity, as will be seen in Daniel 9 and can be observed in the passages below from Isaiah and Jeremiah. And Paul symbolically referred to the Christ as the Rock (I Corinthians 10:4). As the human messenger at the First Advent, manifesting the highest form of true humanhood, that is, living or demonstrating this righteousness or purity, Jesus was called “the Messiah the Prince” in Daniel (9:25). (For a full explanation of Jesus’ fulfilling this prophecy in Daniel 9, see Chapter XII herein.)
