The Crescent and the Cross
The sands of time have covered the Word of God.
With swords forged as a Crescent, as a Cross,
With “love your enemies” having been trod,
They saved the human gold from defiled dross.

Love: an affection neighbors’ hearts convey.
What word, what act can claim it loves, it heals.
.
Exhume the divine Word: live by Love’s gage.
What age will see that hope on the world’s stage?
